Hi. My name is Jerry, and I, along with the other men in the above picture, help put together the weekly radio show that is here on this website. First it is played on the radio in Southeastern Massachusetts on WCOD 106.1, on Sunday mornings at 6 AM. You can also download the Podcasts by searching for Last Generation Radio on iTunes.
If you’re wondering, I’m the one in the white jacket, in the picture above. Apparently I didn’t get the memo to wear a dark jacket. Now it doesn’t take all five of us to make a radio show, but then again, it actually takes more than that. It’s a two-man crew to actually put something together each week. At this time it’s Pastor Roger Williams and myself.
Before we get too far ahead let me introduce everyone, above, to you and tell you a bit of history about the radio show. From left to right is Mark Hurley, Pastor Roger Williams, myself, Pastor Chip Ganiear, and Joe Benedict.
It’ll be the ten-year anniversary on May 21, 2011 for the radio show. I still remember Pastor Paul Campo and Joe standing in the Audio/Video Room at church asking me if I wanted to help start a radio show. It’s funny looking back and seeing that Joe & I had no idea what we were doing, but we managed somehow. Joe was the host for the show for about eight years. After that, Pastor Chip Ganiear was the host for about a year, and then Mark Hurley for about 6 months, and now Pastor Roger Williams for about 6 months and counting.
We do things a bit differently today, putting the show together, than when we first started, too. I have to turn the show in every Friday morning to the radio station, and in the early days Joe and I would sometimes be up until 1 AM Friday morning putting something together. We don’t have TOO many late nights any more as we try to record testimonies a few days ahead of time and then Pastor Williams puts together some timely current events and emails his recording to me, and then I glue it all together.
To sum it up, it does take more than a two-man crew, and more than a five man crew. It takes a whole church full of people who support this ministry year after year after year.
And most importantly, we thank God for the opportunity to share His life-changing Gospel to all who will hear.
Thanks for reading.
Jerry
